Prepare a case file for a solicitor
Make the file readable — facts in order, documents labelled — before you ask for advice.
Solicitors spend time finding the story. Your job beforehand is organisation, not arguing the law.
- One-page situation summary in plain language.
- Party list with roles (e.g. customer, supplier, landlord).
- Chronology from earliest to latest, including key emails as events.
- Evidence indexed with short labels (“Invoice 1042”, “Photo of leak 12 Mar”).
- Amounts that match across summary, invoices, and bank records.
- What you hope for, in your own words — as a goal note, not a legal claim draft.

Remember:
Organising the file does not replace legal advice. A solicitor advises on rights and options; we help you present the facts.
